Austin all-girls STEM charter school posts a 92 overall accountability score and grows enrollment by more than 70% heading into year two
AUSTIN, Texas, August 14, 2026 – The Texas Girls School, an all-girls, STEM-focused public charter school in Northwest Austin, has earned an overall “A” rating from the Texas Education Agency in its first year of operation, posting an accountability score of 92 out of 100.
The school opened in August 2025 with founding students in grades 6 and 7. Under the state’s A–F accountability system, TEA awarded the school an “A” in Student Achievement, with a score of 93, and an “A” in School Progress, with a score of 94. The school also earned an Academic Growth score of 94 and a “B” in Closing the Gaps, with a score of 88.
The results place The Texas Girls School in the state’s highest accountability rating category following its inaugural year.
“This A rating belongs to our founding students, families, faculty and staff, who showed up every day and built something extraordinary together,” said Dana Stuart, Founder and Superintendent of The Texas Girls School. “We set out to create a school where girls are challenged, nurtured and prepared to lead through rigorous STEM learning, high expectations and a community designed to help them thrive. These results show what is possible when girls are given the opportunity and support to reach their full potential. We are incredibly proud, deeply grateful and just getting started.”
In addition to its overall “A” rating, The Texas Girls School earned seven Distinction Designations from TEA — special recognitions awarded to schools that demonstrate exceptional performance compared to campuses with similar size, grade span and student populations. The Texas Girls School earned distinctions in:
